Our Story
It began with wine, food, and candles
Rewined started with a love of wine, good food, and candlelight, and a stubborn belief that nothing good should go to waste. Here is how it grew.
A backyard in Charleston
2009
Adam, or “the boss man” as he is known around the candle shop, started Rewined in 2009 in his Charleston, South Carolina backyard. He was managing a restaurant at the time and could not stop noticing the thousands of empty wine bottles headed for the trash. So he cut them down, poured them with wax, and blended fragrances to match the wines they once held.
From the City Market to the world
The early days
The first Rewined candles were sold at a stall in the historic Charleston City Market. Today they can be found in stores across the globe, and every one of them is still made in our Charleston workshop.
A family that kept growing
Then and now
In the beginning the candle crew was Adam and a few friends in a small shop. He recruited more friends to make, sell, and market the candles, and the place took on a family feeling he was determined to keep. That led to a partnership with the South Carolina Vocational Rehabilitation Department that has become invaluable: over the years, forty candle makers have joined the crew after completing vocational training, and many have gone on to lead their departments.
Alongside them, the Candle Gals and Candle Guys run marketing, sales, operations, and product development. Our passion is exploring wine and places with good people, and we try to help everyone here make the most of what they do best.

Every candle
Every Rewined candle is hand-poured in our Charleston, South Carolina workshop with premium natural soy wax and fragrances carefully blended to mimic the aromas of your favorite wine varietals. Our soaps are made here too, and the ingredients we use are made or grown in the USA. Beautifully designed, built to be used, and finished by hand.

Every scent tells a story
Fragrance reveals, transports, and transforms. That is why we love it. A glass of Cabernet on a cold night. Champagne poured too fast. Lavender and pear from the Saturday market. Every scent we make begins with a moment like that, and we build it note by note until it can carry you there. We are forever inspired by nature, food, wine, travel, and entertaining, and you can smell it in every collection.
Designed to be used twice
The candle is only the first chapter. Every vessel we make is built to be washed out and kept: a glass for the table, a planter for the windowsill, a home for whatever needs one. Burn it down, clean it out, and give it a second life. It is the same instinct that started the company, and it still shapes everything we design.

If lighting a candle teaches us anything, it is that when we slow down and look around, every moment is a chance to come back to our senses, to revel in them, and to find the magic that connects us all.
