The Pumpkin Martini
The pumpkin martini is autumn's answer to the espresso martini: a dessert-hour drink that arrived with the American craze for all things pumpkin spice, but done right it tastes like pie by firelight rather than a coffee-shop syrup.
You'll need:
1.5 oz vanilla vodka
1 oz pumpkin liqueur (or 1 tbsp pumpkin puree and 0.5 oz maple syrup)
0.5 oz cream
Pinch of pumpkin pie spice
Shake hard with ice, double strain into a chilled coupe, and dust with spice or grated nutmeg. A cinnamon-sugar rim is not cheating.
